On May 29, the commendation conference for Gold Award of China’s Construction Engineering Steel Structure was successfully held in Wuhan, the capital city of Central China’s Hubei province, where the rehabilitation construction project of Zhongshan Bridge contracted and built by Anhui Provincial Highway & Port Engineering Company Limited – one of the subsidiaries of ACEG, was awarded the second batch of the 14th Gold Award of China’s Construction Engineering Steel Structure and the honor - Project manager award for outstanding contribution was conferred on the Project manager.

Gold Award of China’s Construction Engineering Steel Structure ranks the highest honor award of engineering quality in China’s construction steel structure industry. In term of design scheme, the innovative structure of all-steel and tied arch bridge with ultra-thin high girder (girder height 1.1 meters) was adopted, and in term of construction, the method of pontoon pushing - pivot conversion for long-span steel arch bridge was adopted, a method ranked a national initiative.
The Project commenced on November 18, 2016, and completed and has been accepted on May 8, 2018, and officially opened to traffic on May 9, 2018, and there was nothing wrong with the bridge and it has been running fine since it was opened to traffic.
After the completion of the project, it has been awarded with many honorary titles as “Provincial level certificate of construction method 2018 for the construction method of pontoon pushing - pivot conversion for long-span steel arch bridge”, 2019 National Excellent Road Construction Method, Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award 2019, “Juzi Cup” (Municipal Quality Project in Wuhu city), “2020 Huangshan Cup” (Anhui Provincial Quality Project), to mention just a few.
